Dear Children's Action Network member,

The state House of Representatives has passed a revenue package that ends the sales tax exemption on candy. We support this because the $30 million per year of revenue will help protect vital services for kids.

Now, the House and Senate are negotiating a final budget and revenue plan. Nearly 200 people have sent this compelling message about taxing candy to legislators, but many state Senators have still not seen it.

Watch it now and then send it to your three state legislators.

Your State Senator, unknown to us unknown to us, will soon vote on the final revenue package.

There's still time. Legislators may extend the legislative session beyond its scheduled end of March 11th.

Taxing non-essential products like candy and soda will provide sustainable funding to preserve the programs that children and families are counting on now more than ever, like Apple Health for Kids. Large manufacturers of candy products and soda pop are opposing this smart revenue solution.

Thank you for speaking up for kids!

Sincerely,

Jon
