Dear Children's Action Network member,

Every now and then, someone takes advocacy for children to the next level.

That happened over the weekend. A high school sophomore from Seattle recorded a one-minute message to lawmakers telling them why they should should tax candy and soda to pay for health care for kids.

Watch it now and then send it to your three state legislators.

With this year’s legislative session slated to adjourn on Thursday, the clock is ticking for both the House and Senate to vote on bills that would raise urgently needed new revenue.

Taxing non-essential products like candy and soda will provide sustainable funding to preserve the programs that children and families are counting on now more than ever, like Apple Health for Kids. Large manufacturers of candy products and soda pop are opposing this smart revenue solution.

Thank you for speaking up for kids!

Sincerely,

Jon
